Hello, my name is Paola.
Thank you for stopping by to look at my profile.
About me? Where can I start? Well, I am a bilingual who is fluent in Spanish (native) that has lived in Scotland for over 30 years. I have witnessed how mental health has impacted people, old and young, and my awareness has fuelled my passion to want to make a difference by motivating, offering support and promote mental health.
My passion for working with young people stems from my early years background, I have worked in the public sector for over 10 years, giving me the experience and awareness to see how mental health can indeed start at an early age.
I have also worked in a high school providing counselling to young people and in a charitable organisation where I counselled clients presenting issues and struggles that were taking over their self-belief while taking them to a place where they didn’t want to be anymore.
I recognise that reaching out for help can be daunting, but let me assure you that you are not alone.
By you reaching out, you are indeed making a significant first step.
I am a qualified person-centred counsellor, BACP registered, PVG member, and registered with the ICO to ensure your data is protected.
As well as a PDA in Addiction Counselling, I have also completed a specialist PDA in Counselling Children and Young People, meaning that if parents are looking for a therapist to work with their child or adolescent, I am available via phone, email or text messaging to chat about how work might look like.
As your counsellor, I will be here to facilitate a talking therapy environment, this will allow us to explore what’s happening in your life together. You will be at the forefront of this process, leading the way in discovering insights and strategies that will work best for you.
I understand that finding a suitable counsellor is very important so, to help you decide whether I am right for you, I am offering an initial 15-minute session free of charge which you can book here.

Tools & Sessions
I take an integrative approach to counselling; our process will be truly collaborative, meaning that our sessions will be tailored specifically to your unique and individual needs, allowing you to feel heard, respected, and valued.
We will be doing that by using a variety of ‘tools’ from different modalities, such as CBT, Psychodynamic, Gestalt and Existential that will look like strategies and/or exercises.
Or, we could be more creative and use visuals, drawing, or even go outdoors! Sometimes, going outside can improve mental health by reducing stress and anxiety, I can adapt to meet your needs.
Our sessions will empower you to gain control of your life and help you navigate challenges that you might be facing, with deeper understanding and confidence.
Whether you are seeking a compassionate and non-judgemental counsellor to support your child or seeking therapy for yourself I am here to help.
Feel free to get in touch or book a free 15 minute call to discuss your specific needs, and together, we can embark on a journey of healing and growth
